Αlex The Lazy Greek Is Back

The video of Alex the lazy Greek which went viral on the Internet last November, showing just how easily the international media had depicted a negative image of Greece due to the ongoing crisis and its European-wide side effects is being used to reverse what critics called an unfair stereotype.
The team that created Alex has put together another video with Alex being compared to Europa by using actual Eurostat data to draw comparisons between Greek and other European employees.
The video shows how Alex works harder than Europa, gets older to get his retirement, receives less pay for his services but still has the same prices to pay in everyday life. Europa may be more efficient than Alex but this does not mean Alex does not even try to work.  The new video also suggests that this rumors may be spread because of Greece being a famous holiday destination or because the Greeks enjoy their coffee outside after work.
Omikron Project is a group of regular guys and girls living in crisis-hit Greece, as their Facebook profile reads. The projection of what they say are inaccurate images of life in Greece made the group decide to do something other than complain about it.
Omikron Project’s mission is to give people outside Greece a fuller picture of what’s going on in the country, and let them make up their own minds about the situation. The groups wished to tell the untold side of the Greek crisis and bring down the stereotypes built against the country’s people.
